Actress Anisa Butt spreads cancer awareness with short film ‘Got Cancer’ supported by cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s NGO, YouWeCan
Actress Anisa Butt who was seen in movies like Half Girlfriend, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, plays the lead role in LA-based NGO, HOPE B~Lit’s short film, Got Cancer. The film is in collaboration with cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s non-profit organization, YouWeCan. The heart-touching docu-drama that’s written by Ruhi Hak, brings to fore the plight of children braving cancer globally while highlighting the importance of love, care, nutrition and mental attitude in enhancing the healing process in addition to medical care.
Anisa says, “I play the character of Kashish in the film which is basically about a working girl who volunteers at a hospital with child cancer patients, and bonds with them. Although it’s hard and emotional, they provide her with a sense of hope. It’s about relationships and the importance of love. I think the story encapsulates the quote People might forget what you did but they’ll never forget how you made them feel’.” “It was an amazing experience working with such a talented team. And I’m also very passionate about working with kids. I do try and work with kids in my free time.” she adds.
All the proceeds from “Got Cancer” screenings were be donated to the YouWeCan Foundation. The foundation also provides much-needed support to affected children and their families in terms of further education and health checkups. The film’s trailer was released in Ferbruary 2019 and has received a lot appreciation. The much-awaited short film, Got Cancer will soon be released!
