The story takes it inspiration from the rural India, where the tradition of demanding dowriesremains prevalent.
Educated men are seen as commodities, with families demanding exorbitant dowries or offerings from prospective brides’ families. When poor families cannot meet these demands, a grim custom, “Pakadwa
Shaadi” (a compliant marriage set-up) emerges— grooms are kidnapped and enforced into marriage at gunpoint. “Gehna Zevar Ya Zanjeer” explores the plight of a couple caught in this harrowing practice.
This serial centres around Gehna (played by Actress Divya Patel), a spirited and resourceful young farmer daughter from Khapuriya Uttar Pradesh. Her life is a testament to resilience and determination.
Enters Dr. Ayushman Raisingh played by Actor Paras Arora), a young idealistic doctor from Banaras. Driven by a disdain for regressive village customs, Ayushman dedicates himself to improving the villagers’ lives. As
