The Marathi film ‘Reel Star’ comes with a strong theme that reveals how the ethics of the rich and elite treat the common people. ‘Reel Star’ is trying to create a new wave cinema by subverting existing literary theories and cinematic concepts in Marathi.
‘Reel Star’ tells the story of a street vendor named Bhanuwadas and his family, who are trying to fulfill a small dream in their lives. But by telling the story of the crises they accidentally face, the story moves into the socio-political environment of contemporary Maharashtra. Bhanuvadas’ story is both a heartwarming family film and a suspenseful thriller, as he finally has to fight for his survival against those who would crush his dreams.

Prasad Oak is back with a socially relevant subject, this time with Nagraj Manjule’s brother Bhushan Manjule in an equally important role. Prasad Oak, who plays the role of journalist, who seeks the truth behind the death of a famous justice, has given the best performance of his career as always.
This film also has the distinction of being the first Marathi film to be produced by technicians from the Malayalam film industry, which produces some of the best films in India, alongside the best versatile Marathi actors.The film’s biggest highlight is the heartwarming songs that are appropriate for the story.Vinu Thomas, the music director of the famous Malayalam movie ‘Drishyam’, has composed the music for the lyrics of Guru Thakur and Mandar Cholkar. Five songs in the film have been sung by leading Marathi singers Adarsh Shinde, Manish Rajagiri, Rohit Syam Raut, Abhijit Kosambi, Sayli Kamble and Mukta Karate.
Prasad Oak, Bhushan Manjule, Milind Shinde, Urrmela Jagtap, Kailash Waghmare, Anant Mahadevan, Swapnil Rajshekhar, Abhinav Patekar, Ruchira Jadhav, Tanishka Mansi, Master Arjun and others have acted in the film.The film is written by Sudhir Kulkurni, who worked as Nagaraj Manjule’s associate director.The film is directed by Simmi and Robin after the Hindi / Marathi film “Anya”. It is produced by Jose Abraham, Monica and Nisheel Kambatty under the banner of J-Fives Entertainments, Phoenix Group and Initiative Films. The film will hit the theatres this Diwali.
