Pooja Sawant’s Marathi Film ‘Drushya-Adrushya’ Casts a Spell at IFFI

The 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is currently underway in Goa with great splendour. With the presence of distinguished artists and technicians from the Indian film industry, IFFI has captured everyone’s attention. Alongside films from various Indian and international languages, Marathi cinema from the red soil of Maharashtra is also enchanting cinephiles and critics from across the globe. Among these films, ‘Drushya-Adrushya’, based on a unique and intriguing subject, has mesmerised the audience. The recent screening of the film at IFFI received an enthusiastic response and appreciation from viewers.

Produced by RST Canvas and directed by Milind Lele, the suspense thriller ‘Drushya-Adrushya’ has been the talk of the town ever since its selection for this prestigious international film festival. The film has been produced by Pradyot Pendharkar, Anil Varkhade, Dattaji Thorat, Dhananjay Thorat, Prithviraj Khedkar, Yuvraj Khedkar and Ashwini Khedkar. Director Milind Lele’s selection at IFFI has become a moment of pride for the Marathi film industry, its artists, and its technicians. Actress Pooja Sawant, who has had a successful acting career spanning Marathi to Hindi cinema, plays the lead role in this film. Her performance received tremendous appreciation at IFFI. After the screening, the audience gave the film’s entire team a standing ovation, expressing their admiration. The film was showcased under the Indian Panorama section at IFFI. ‘Drushya-Adrushya’ was screened four times at the festival, and every show received overwhelming applause.

The film’s thought-provoking screenplay, situational presentation, meaningful dialogues, atmospheric storytelling, natural performances, and Milind Lele’s sensitive direction kept the audience glued to their seats until the very end. ‘Drushya-Adrushya’ is a film that explores the mysterious depths of the human mind—a blend of suspense and emotion. The screenplay keeps viewers engrossed, caught between what the eyes can see and what the truth really is. Alongside Pooja Sawant, the movie features popular actors Ashok Samarth, Hardik Joshi and Akshaya Gurav in key roles.
