‘Jodi’ Announced on the Auspicious Occasion of Pola
A Heartwarming Story of the Unbreakable Bond Between a Farmer and His Pair of Bullocks to Hit the Big Screen
Bullocks hold a special and inseparable place in the life of a farmer. In Maharashtra, the festival of Pola is celebrated with great enthusiasm as a way of expressing gratitude towards bullocks, who work shoulder to shoulder with farmers in agricultural activities. On this day, the bullocks are bathed, beautifully decorated and worshipped. The tradition highlights the deep bond between farmers and their bullocks, their hard work, and their inseparable connection with the soil. Keeping this emotional relationship at its heart, a new Marathi film was announced on the auspicious occasion of Pola. Titled ‘Jodi’, the film will soon meet audiences with the evocative tagline, “No matter how many blows time inflicts, this bond never breaks!”
Produced by Final Draft Film Production and FableFox Media Production, ‘Jodi’ has been written and will be directed by Dnyaneshwar Shantaram Jadhav. The poster released alongside the film’s announcement has further heightened curiosity about the project. It features a pair of bullocks pulling a plough through lush green farmland. The backdrop also includes the sky, agricultural fields and a tractor symbolising modern farming, offering a glimpse of the changing times.
The line “No matter how many blows time inflicts, this bond never breaks!” is prominently featured on the poster. It suggests that even in an era of changing farming practices and advancing technology, the emotional bond between a farmer and his pair of bullocks remains unbreakable. Through the film, audiences will get to witness a unique and deeply moving facet of the relationship between a pair of bullocks and their owner.
The poster hints at the film’s central concept — “One bond… one tradition… and a story that touches the heart.” It also announces that the film is slated to release in August 2027. With this, curiosity is building around how the world of rural life, farming, and the heartfelt bond between humans and bullocks will be brought alive on the big screen.
