Gurdeep Mehndi Brings Gujarati Dakla Sound to Navratri With Saregama’s ‘Maavdi’

With Navratri around the corner, singer Gurdeep Mehndi is all set to add a fresh Gujarati sound to the festive season with ‘Maavdi’, released by Saregama. Exploring the vibrant traditional Dakla style, the high-energy track could well become one of the new songs making its way into Garba playlists this Navratri.

Gurdeep, who has performed extensively across Gujarat and Rajasthan, has seen audiences come alive when he sings in Gujarati and Marwadi at his live shows. That love has now inspired him to bring his own Gujarati song to listeners.

Gurdeep Mehndi says, “It has been so good to see Gujarati audiences enjoy themselves and dance when I sing in Gujarati, and similarly see the love from Marwadi audiences when I perform in Marwadi. That love has always encouraged me to explore these languages and their music. I’m finally very happy to release my own Gujarati song. With ‘Maavdi’, I wanted to explore the Dakla style and bring its energy into my sound. And with Navratri around the corner, I’m hoping people dance to it, enjoy it and make it part of their celebrations.”

With its infectious folk rhythm and festive energy, ‘Maavdi’ arrives just in time for Navratri, giving audiences a new track to discover beyond the familiar Garba favourites. With Saregama backing the release, Gurdeep brings the traditional Dakla sound to a contemporary audience while adding another regional flavour to his musical journey.
