The upcoming Marathi film ‘Maharashtra Epstein Files’ promises to take audiences on a gripping journey through conspiracies brewing behind the corridors of power, the unholy nexus between politics and crime, forces corroding the system, and the shocking secrets that emerge from them. Set against the backdrop of alleged controversial developments in the political and social spheres, this realistic thriller is expected to explore the misuse of power, criminal networks, and the struggle for justice. The film offers glimpses of the confrontation between investigative agencies determined to bring criminals to justice and those who attempt to suppress the truth by exploiting their political influence. Now, the fierce and commanding look of versatile actor Subodh Bhave in a pivotal political role has been unveiled. The film will release across Maharashtra on November 20, 2026.
Presented by Anandi Pictures Amravati and Sachin Rode Patil, ‘Maharashtra Epstein Files’ is produced by Devendra Bhat, Suryakant Bhunde, and Prashant Kadampure under the banner of Matoshri Entertainment World. Director Swaroop Sawant seeks to bring social realities to the screen through an engaging blend of mystery and suspense. The conflict between criminal elements operating under the protection of political power and those within the system who challenge them has been given a sharp edge through the story, screenplay, and dialogues penned by Sanjay Navgire. The film’s concept is by Sagarkumar S. Jain.
The film, which exposes a fraudulent godman, has remained in the spotlight for various reasons ever since its announcement. The recently unveiled first look of Subodh Bhave has particularly caught attention, showcasing him in a dignified and resolute avatar. Dressed in a pristine white kurta paired with a black bandhgala jacket, with a penetrating and serious expression, Subodh appears as a seasoned, influential, and principled political leader.
His powerful dialogue, “Whether it is a minister or an MLA, anyone found guilty will have to face the law. No one will be spared,” serves as a stern warning to those indulging in wrongdoing within the system.
Crime investigation boards, yellow police barricade tapes surrounding crime scenes, a barrage of questions from journalists, camera flashes, and expressions of fear and suspicion on the faces of various characters further deepen the mystery surrounding the first look. The striking reveal has sparked curiosity about the political secrets hidden behind Subodh’s character.
Alongside Subodh Bhave, the film features Deepali Sayed, Uday Tikekar, and Akshay Tanksale in significant roles. Through its diverse characters, the film seeks to unravel the complex layers of politics, social dynamics, and the criminal underworld.
Cinematographer Akash Kakade has captured the film’s mysterious atmosphere, political developments, and dramatic sequences with a compelling visual approach. Art director Akshay Ambekar has crafted the film’s visual setting to lend authenticity to the narrative while highlighting the distinctive worlds of politics and crime. Keeping in mind the personalities, social standing, and narrative significance of the characters, Apeksha Gandhi Soni has taken charge of costume design.
Production Controller Neha Ghodke has overseen planning and coordination across various departments during the filmmaking process, while Production Head Sachin Ghanwat has managed the production operations. Yash Sanas is the Line Producer, while Vijay Mhaske has served as the Production Manager.
