Chikeezing’ First Poster Unveiled! A Story of a Little Boy’s Big Dream to Arrive This Diwali on November 12!
Childhood is about finding joy in the simplest of things… A colourful stone can be a treasure, a stick can become a magic wand, and the world beyond a closed door can feel like a grand dream! Capturing this innocent world of childhood, dreams and determination, the first poster of the upcoming Marathi film ‘Chikeezing’ was unveiled today. Along with the poster, the makers also officially announced that the film will hit theatres this Diwali, on November 12.
Presented by Dippak Wani and Jaiprakash Bhande, ‘Chikeezing’ is produced by A Themeteam Studio Production in association with Keyframe Production. Supriya Bagate is the producer, while Shabbir Sabuwala, Rachana Vora, Hrishikesh Deshmukh, Sid Vinsurkar, Karan Chavan and Unmesh Kulkarni are the co-producers. The film is directed by Rajendra Bagate and Vaibhav Kulkarni.
Set against the backdrop of a hill station, ‘Chikeezing’ tells the story of Chikya, a bright, dreamy and mischievous young boy growing up in poverty.
Every Saturday, Chikya accompanies his mother to a prestigious residential school. Fascinated by the magnificent world of the school, he is captivated by its huge, locked iron gate and the mysterious world that lies beyond it. What follows is his secret journey of chasing that dream. His only confidant is a scarecrow in a strawberry field, which quietly keeps all his secrets. His conversations with the scarecrow, collecting firewood with Taaydi, watching other children burst firecrackers from a distance during Diwali, and carefully preserving various objects in his schoolbag — these little moments gradually reveal the world through his eyes.
But why does he do all these seemingly inexplicable things? Is it merely the innocence of childhood? What is really going on in his mind? What exactly is he looking for? As the audience searches for answers to these questions, the film seeks to entertain while also encouraging viewers to look within themselves.
‘Chikeezing’ is not merely a film for children; it is a gentle celebration of childhood, dreams, family and hope that parents too can experience alongside their children. In today’s fast-paced world, the film offers an opportunity to take a closer look at children’s imagination and their seemingly small dreams. Because every child carries a dream within.
The film features Prabhakar More, Krishnaraj Waingade, Sejal Kore, Amruta Suresh, Dr. Sonali Ghatnekar, and others in important roles.
